Every Penny Counts is me, Nancy Saunders. I have 40 years of administrative & customer service experience in a broad range of companies. Small businesses hire me to act as their part-time, “business manager and virtual assistant.” I live in Barrie, ON with my family and a beloved elderly cat.
Here’s my story:
I spent the first 40 years of my adult life working in various business’s and in particular, administrative, account managment or management. I enjoyed it immensely.
My experience taught me things about business I never could have imagined. Customer service, order fulfillment, credit card processing, point of sale, systems integration, website design, inventory management, vendor relations, search engine optimization, distribution, photography, shipping, PR, marketing, buying and, most important, cash flow.
I did staffing reorganizations, company relocations, network migrations, phone installations, financial system set-ups and website management plus ran the day to day operations of the office. Basically, anything that involved figuring out the back-end stuff that makes a company run.
I had lots of jobs, projects, and promotions along the way and I had the chance to work with some of the smartest people on the planet, many of whom took time to mentor and teach me.
But in 2020 life changed aburptly. I knew it was time to go off on my own. At first I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I researched many things and tried a couple of ventures. Wow, what a shock. As a first-time entrepreneur, and despite all my previous experience, I learned a few lessons and most importantly what I should focus my business on and what not too.
Today, having launched, run (and failed at) a couple of small ventures and knowing that I’ve always been the one that friends, relatives and former coworkers come to when they need help with various admin tasks, I started Every Penny Counts Virtual Assisting.
Launched in 2024 Every Penny Counts Virtual Assisting is hired by small businesses and entrepreneurs to act as their virtual assistant, helping them make more money, more efficiently and with less stress.
